The courses of fire are Steel challenge type. $40 match fee. 150 rounds of ammo will get you through., 200 if you miss a lot lol. You don’t need a gun light , but you can run your gun light if you want to. We will have lighting options, but with longer days we are looking good. You can run OWB holsters, battle Belts, and yes you can even run your CCW holster including Appendix IWB, BUT NO CROSS DRAW OR SERPA STYLE HOLSTERS. No holster no problem, start from low ready. This event doesn’t require the shooters to arrive at 5pm , it’s an open format, meaning you can arrive anytime between 5-7:45pm. Updated format with an hour lunch break. -$160 This course combines carbine/rifle and pistol fundamentals, and guides the shooter in establishing a foundation for integrating both pistol and carbine platforms. Course has evolved over time and we have changed out about half of the drills/Courses of fire. It’s an opportunity to establish a baseline performance of each system and then explore what techniques are optimal for the particular context. Such as evaluating pistol versus carbine performance at various distances and target sizes. Topics covered include Gear considerations & placement. Performance of pistol vs. carbine, evaluation of pistol and carbine reloading procedures, evaluation of clearance techniques for pistol and carbine. Transitioning between weapon systems, with multiple reps, and we added a few new drills, plus action packed competition style 2 Gun course of fire with movement in all directions, multiple rifle & pistol engagements, reloads, transition, PCSL targets, run & gun fun. Heavy emphasis on shooting at a realistic speed, meaning at a faster pace. Topics include: Concealment considerations, drawing from concealment, drawing from outside the waistband holster, movement before, during, and after engagement, cover/concealment, acquiring your natural point of aim/index, vision, trigger manipulation to improve efficiency, extra magazine carry options, various types of reloads, one handed operation & shooting, and of course accuracy at realistic reaction speed. We will utilize courses of fire from the DYNAMIC MARKSMANSHIP ASSESSMENT DRILLS ( DMAD) created by A. Yoon aka Sierra One Outfitter. These are based on police shootings caught on body cameras.
